New Parent Checklist:

Hey Scout, WELCOME to Troop 150!

Four things for you to do before the scouting fun can start . . .

(Have Mom or Dad help if you need it!)

1. Registered using the BSA paper form. You can get this form from our registrar. Fill it out and then give it back to our troop registrar.

But wait, There's more!. . .

2. Register once again online. Even though you just filled out a paper registration we still need you to register one more time on our website for our records. This second registration becomes your contact information for our troop. It is important your information be complete and accurate.

Register as a T150 Scout!

3. Complete a BSA Health Form. Since you are new to our troop we need a BSA health form. Click the blue link below for a form you can print and fill out:

BSA Class 1 & 2 Health Form
Parents, this form consists of two parts. The Class 1 part is required before you son can go on trips 72 hours or less and it must be updated every year. The Class 2 part must have a doctor's signature and is required before your son can go on trips longer than 72 hours, to summer camp, or on high adventure outings. The Class 2 part must be updated every 3 years. Troop 150 recommends completing both the Class 1 and Class 2 parts of the BSA health form.

4. Register for Summer camp. If you haven't yet registered yourself for summer camp please do so by clicking:

This year we are going to Camp Baldwin, a week-long horse camp!

And a BIG WELCOME from Troop 150 to Mom and Dad too!

Seven things FOR YOU to do . . .

Your son may have just joined Troop 150 but we like to think of you as joining the troop too! We know from past experience the parent who becomes involved in scouting is the parent who sees their son advance -- and nothing is more exciting than watching your son roll forward as he learns to work with other scouts. So, before you can jump in and join the fun yourself, we need you to:

1. Confirm your son has registered both on paper AND online | Contact our troop registrar if you have not yet filled out the BSA paper form and turned it in. Then confirm that your son has registered online. Or do it for him at:

Register as a T150 Scout!

This second registration goes into our troop records becomes his contact information. It is important that the information be complete and accurate.

2. Register yourself as a T150 driver. To drive other scouts to T150 events you must fill out our online auto registration page.

Register My Automobile and Me as a Driver!

3. Take 5 short online courses | These official BSA courses will help you understand some leadership basics and how T150 works with your son. Each training session can be completed in less than ten minutes. Proof of completion will be required before you can directly work with any other scout than your own son.

Be sure to print out your certificate each time you complete a course and turn it in to our Registrar!

4. Complete a BSA Health Form | Yes, you too must fill out a medical health form before going on T150 trips.

a. If you are under forty years of age use this form:

BSA Class 1 & 2 Health Form
The Class 1 part of the form is for events shorter than 72 hours. To participate with resident and summer camps, or on high adventure events, you must have a doctor's signature on the Class 2 part of the form. T150 recommends filling out both parts of the form regardless.

b. If you are forty years of age, or over, use this Class 3 form:

BSA Class 3 Health Form
This form requires a doctor's signature to be valid. It must be updated every 12 months.

Please complete the appropriate form and get it to our Troop Registrar.

5. Review the T150 Adult Leadership Page

T150 Adult Leadership
This lists the adult leadership who will work with your boy or behind the scenes to make your son's scouting experience as exciting as possible. Volunteer for something. We'd love to double-up and train you for something. Anything you like. In fact, we encourage you tostep forward!

6. Stay current with the Info

T150 Online Calendar
and...
T150 Troop Broadcasts

We all know what it's like to be surprised when our son forgets to tell us about some crucial scouting event: Christmas tree recycling ... church breakfasts ... or that three day Camporee you volunteered to go on last Fall. So read about upcoming events yourself! Look at the T150 calendar yourself! Don't depend on that little slip of paper making it home from the meeting. Or, just remind yourself of pesky details you might have forgotten, but your son didn't, and appear omnicient in all ways Scouting!

...and finally:

7. Drill down into this website with your son!
Start with the Home Page. It's a great resource for you and your boy as he sets out to enjoy what Troop 150 has to offer. If you have suggestions, or comments about the site contact the webmaster to share them. Feed back is always welcome!
